Easy Pastry Crust Recipe

This is my favorite pastry crust recipe, as requested by my sister... It's easy, quick, and you can customize it for each pie - try adding a little coconut, chopped nuts, citrus zest, or paint with liqueur before baking for added flavor...


Easy Pastry Crust

1/3 cup softened butter
1 egg
1/3 cup sugar
1 1/4 cups flour

Cream butter and sugar, then blend in the egg. Add flour and mix well. (**Then add up to 1/8 cup of additional dry ingredients if you wish.) Pat dough into buttered pastry dish, evenly distributing across the bottom and up the sides. Fork-in some steam release, and then bake on 450 degrees for 5 minutes. Cool before filling (I like to put it in the freezer while I prepare my filling).
